 Palm Springs College Showcase

We are excited to see you on Sunday, July 12th at 2:00 for the Welcome Event.  In partnership with Chuck Liddiard and the Paratum Scholars, we are excited to offer you an opportunity to learn and meet with college admissions counselors from nationally-ranked institutions during our CWC Welcome Event.  Click here to see who will be attending the Palm Springs College Showcase and learn more about their institutions.

Leading up to the college fair, we are asking all players and parents to register for a Strive Scan barcode before the event.  Please keep in mind that by registering for your barcode, your information will not be shared with any colleges or universities.   During the fair, you will have the choice to have representatives scan your barcode to connect with you further. The day after the fair, you will also receive a report with information on the institutions with which you scanned.

Lastly, to prepare you for the college fair, the Paratum Scholars have prepared a guide for students and parents to make the most of the college fair — please see the attached PDF.  If you have any general questions about the Palm Springs College Showcase or any specific questions regarding your college search, application, and recruitment processes, do not hesitate to reach out to Chuck Liddiard by emailing him at cliddiard@theparatumscholars.org

Description:  Navigating the college admissions process as a student-athlete presents both unique opportunities and challenges. Whether you’re targeting NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, or two-year programs, this workshop will help you align your academic and athletic goals with schools that are the best match.  Students and parents will learn how to build a thoughtful, strategic college and university list that balances academic priorities, athletic opportunities, and personal preferences. We’ll explore key factors student-athletes should consider when identifying potential colleges, and participants will walk away with a clearer framework and actionable tools to begin—or refine—their college search process.

This session is ideal for high school athletes and their families across all grade levels who want to approach the recruiting and admissions journey with clarity and confidence.

Key Takeaways:

  • Understand how to define personal preferences around geography, academics, student life, and financial considerations.
  • Learn how to use tools and strategies to evaluate college websites, research programs, review admissions and athletic recruitment information.
  • Understand the importance of why aspiring college-bound student athletes should develop their academic college list first
  • Gain confidence in when and how to engage with college admissions officers and coaches.
  • Learn why a balanced college list is essential—and how to assess and create one effectively.
